What to Know

Monthly Progress Review (MPR): Each month, teachers assess if a student is making satisfactory or unsatisfactory progress in each course based on their completion of assigned work during that month's progress period.

Learning Plan Contract (LPC): This is the schedule of assigned course work for each MPR period. The LPC is in the Welcome module for each course.

Satisfactory MPR Requirements

To be considered satisfactory for that month's MPR, scholars must meet these criteria:

Elementary

Grades K-5

Score at least 70% (EX or ME) or higher with at least 75% of assignments submitted in ELA, Science, Social Studies, and Math.

Middle School

Grades 6-8

Passing half or more courses with a grade of 70% (EX or ME) or higher.

High School

Grades 6-8

Passing half or more courses with a grade of 70% (A, B, or C) or higher.

Unsatisfactory Process

If more than half of the courses show unsatisfactory progress, then the overall progress for the month is considered unsatisfactory.

One Month Unsatisfactory

If a scholar has unsatisfactory progress for the month, their advisor or homeroom teacher will create an intervention plan.

Three Consecutive Months Unsatisfactory

If a scholar has three months in a row with unsatisfactory progress, their courses will be reduced. This may affect graduation for high school scholars.

Four Consecutive Months Unsatisfactory

If a scholar has four months in a row with unsatisfactory progress, they will be withdrawn from iA. Those withdrawn for this reason may not re-enroll until the next school year.

Does satisfactory MPR mean my child is passing all their classes?

No. A scholar can be failing one or more classes and still be designated as making overall Satisfactory progress for the Monthly Progress Review. To monitor your scholar's grades and status in their classes, use a Canvas Observer account to view grades, progress and teacher feedback.
