Discover the Excitement of STEAM Exploration Night!

Mark your calendars! STEAM Exploration Night is happening on March 13, from 6–8 PM at Federal Way High School—but what makes this event so special? Sure, it's a family-friendly night packed with fun, but there’s so much more to look forward to!

Here are five reasons you won’t want to miss it:

1. Experience the Power of Art in STEAM

This year, we’re taking STEAM to the next level by adding Art to the mix! Creativity fuels innovation, and incorporating art into science, technology, engineering, and math fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and new ways of communication. Enjoy art-focused booths, a student art gallery, theater performances, a film festival, and more!

2. Explore High-Demand Career Paths

Did you know that STEAM careers are projected to grow by 8% through 2029, more than double the growth rate of non-STEM jobs? Not only that, but STEAM jobs offer higher salaries and exciting opportunities. Attending this event can open your eyes to career paths that are both rewarding and in demand.

3. Engage Your Way—Hands-On or Spectator Style

This event is all about your experience! Whether you prefer exploring booths, watching thrilling demonstrations (like drones in action and live theater performances), or getting hands-on with workshops in health sciences or construction, there’s something for everyone. Plus, it’s a great chance to practice networking—a key skill for future careers.

4. Plan Your STEAM Journey in FWPS

From kindergarten through high school, this event helps students map out their STEAM journey. Discover STEAM clubs like robotics and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), explore exciting electives, and learn about Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses—many of which offer free college credit!

5. See FWPS’ Commitment to STEAM in Action

FWPS is leading the region in providing top-notch in-school STEAM education opportunities through investments in technology and equipment and forging strong industry partnerships. At the event, check out:
✅ 3D laptops in the Health Sciences program
✅ High school AFJROTC scholars showcasing drone technology
✅ Kilo Middle School students demonstrating flight simulators
…and so much more!
