Rights and Responsibilities

Welcome Message from Dr. Dani Pfeiffer

In Federal Way Public Schools, we believe every scholar will be empowered and prepared to develop personal responsibility in order to be positive, productive members of our community. In our district and at each of our schools, we have a strong focus to realize positive outcomes related to strategic plan Goal 2, The Whole Child: Thriving, Confident, Responsible Individuals.

Our Rights and Responsibilities handbook is an essential resource that outlines important information related to student behavior and expectations at school. Schools can’t do it alone and we believe our families are critical partners in their child’s learning and success in school. As parents are their child’s first teacher, I encourage you to review this handbook with your child to familiarize them with the rights and responsibilities that create a safe, positive, productive learning environment.

We are committed to building trusting relationships with our families and scholars based on mutual respect and shared responsibility to foster safe, nurturing and culturally responsive climates for all scholars, staff and families. Together we can support each scholar having a voice, a dream, and a bright future.

Sincerely,

Dani Pfeiffer
Superintendent, Federal Way Public Schools
